In-Home Assisted Living

Caring for a family member? You're not alone. According to the National Family Caregivers Association, more than one quarter of the adult population has provided care to a family member or friend during the past year.  

Temple Memorial Rehabilitation Center provides an in-home assisted living program called  The Caregiver Program for the Texarkana area.  The Caregiver Program is designed to provide extended hours of service in addition to services provided by a Home Health Agency, to prevent premature institutionalization, and to provide families respite from the full-time responsibility of caregiving.

Eligible individuals include:

• persons who have had a stroke or heart condition
• persons who are unable to perform all or part of their activities of daily living
• persons who have Alzheimer's or some form of dementia
• persons who have limited ability to function
• persons who have a disabled condition

Services offered include:

• assistance with bathing
• meal preparation
• light housekeeping
• transportation to doctor, grocery store, or running errands
• assistance with medication schedule, diet restriction, and exercise program

Service will be provided as many hours as needed by the client with a minimum of four (4) hours per shift.
